THE WEBINAR FOR TEACHERS "THE MODERN PHYSICAL EDUCATION LESSON"
On October 27, the Lithuanian Olympic Academy (LOA) organized a webinar for teachers entitled "The Modern Physical Education Lesson". This event had over 200 listeners from all over Lithuania. The President of LOA, Klaipeda University professor Dr. Asta Šarkauskienė gave an introductory speech, greeted all participants and introduced the webinar speakers. The webinar moderator, the LOA referent for Olympic education, Ramūnė Motiejūnaitė, expressed her joy at the teachers’ thirst for knowledge, desire to learn and improve.
During the webinar, a group of scientists discussed the Guidelines for Updating the General Programmes. Among the speakers were associate professor Dr. Aušra Lisinskienė (Vytautas Magnus University), Dr. Agnė Slapšinskaitė Dackevičienė (Lithuanian University of Health Sciences), Vaiva Baltramiejūnaitė-Čepaitė (the 3Q Health Education Institute) and Snaiguolė Eglė Kuosienė (the National Education Agency). These presenters spoke about the programmes that are being updated, what generated the idea, what work has been done and informed that there will be training and seminars for the implementation of the General Programmes in the future.
In her presentation “The Power of Motivation for Pupils and Pedagogues”, sports psychologist Aistė Žemaitytė emphasized the power of the teacher's motivation and self-esteem when working with pupils. The speaker advised how to discover team leaders, winners and charisma; how to analyse oneself and create well-being.
Judo coach, founder of the children's sports studio “Tapk Čempionu“ (Tapkcempionu.lt), Ieva Kublickienė presented different ideas, e.g. how to conduct physical education lessons through play yoga. The speaker shared her experience of how she creates the mood during lessons and how she finds common ground with the pupils.
Football coach Dr. Donatas Gražulis talked about non-traditional sports, presented them, and discussed their inclusion in physical education lessons.
The Director of the Lithuanian Olympic Academy Enriketa Prunskienė summarized the webinar and presented her insights.
