Online seminar for teachers "Successful physical education class in 21st century"
On November 11th, Lithuanian Olympic Academy (LOA) together with their social partners Vilnius University of Applied Sciences, organized an online seminar for teachers "Successful physical education class in 21st century". 500 people from around Lithuania joined the seminar.
Vaiva Juškienė - Dean of the Faculty of Pedagogy gave the introduction speech and was glad of the teachers' curiosity and desire to learn and improve. LOA program manager for Olympic education Ramūnė Motiejūnaitė defined the relevance of the seminar - physical education class is an effective mean for strengthening pupils' health and improving physical activity.
Administrator of LOA Karolis Būdava and LSU student Kornelija Obolevičiūtė presented "E-sports - future of physical activity?" where they discussed e-sports: explaining the sports, it's training and competitions, why it's getting more and more popular and the future of it.
Vilius Grudžinskas - a physiotherapist from Ž.Savickas sports club, talked about the main posture and spinal problems in a presentation "Kids' with posture problems, adaptation to sports". He shared his experience of posture corrections and demonstrated the correct way of doing exercises in physical education class. Also how to train with kids who have curved spine and other problems.
Vilnius rugby academy coaches Vidmantas Valys and Giorgi Chubinidze introduced everyone with rugby basics, explained how to teach kids in this sport. Judo coach and kids' sports class Tapkčempionu.lt founder Ieva Kublickienė presented a possibility of different physical education class involving playful yoga.
We thank the lecturers for their interesting and informative presentations. And we're glad that teachers are interested in innovations and looking for new ways to diversify kids' education.
