Online seminar "Sport and Cardiovascular Health"
On April 22, The Lithuanian Olympic Academy together with one of its social partners - Klaipėda University, organized an online seminar “Sport and Cardiovascular Health” for coaches from non-formal education institutions. Almost 250 coaches, teachers and students from all over Lithuania participated in the event. The seminar analyzed the response of the cardiovascular system to physical load from the medical and pedagogical points of view: the cardiovascular disorders, how to properly distribute physical load during physical activity, the body's reactions to physical load and how to study those reactions. The seminar speakers recommended recording the heart rate during physical activity, which is an informative indicator of the effect of applied physical load on the body. The football coach shared his practical experience of monitoring the heart rate during training. Speakers gave four presentations during the seminar:
1. Prevention of cardiovascular diseases (Prof. Dr. Sigutė Norkienė, Klaipėda University)
2. Functional samples of physical load (Lect. Dr. Eglė Radzevičienė, Klaipėda University)
3. Reaction of the cardiovascular system to physical load (Prof. Dr. Asta Šarkauskienė, Klaipėda University)
4. Monitoring the heart rate during training: practical experience (Football coach Marius Komovas, Klaipėda Football School)
The Lithuanian Olympic Academy thanks all the speakers and participants.
